Please note that apart from being vegan, this maca energy bar is gluten as well as grain free.

Ingredients

  • One-fourth of a cup maple syrup
  • A cup of almonds
  • 2 tablespoons of maca powder
  • Half a cup flax meal
  • Pepitas (1/2 a cup)
  • Half a cup sunflower seeds
  • One-third of a cup almond butter
  • Coconut oil (one-fourth of a cup)
  • Half a teaspoon sea salt
  • Two tablespoons of chia seeds

Directions

  • Use a food processor to grind the almonds
  • Make sure that a consistent mixture is attained
  • Now transfer it to a bowl and toss in maca powder, pepitas, salt, sunflower seeds, flax meal and chia seeds
  • Take a saucepan and pour in maple syrup and coconut oil
  • Add almond butter to it
  • Mix thoroughly
  • Now add all dry ingredients to this saucepan
  • Take a sheet of parchment, larger than 8×8 pan
  • Use it to line the 8×8 pan
  • Now spread the mixture in this pan
  • Refrigerate for an hour or so

Based on the recent studies carried out by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a third of the American adult population are obese based on the weight and height statistics? MACA AND CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM

Here comes a perfect treat that is evenly good for warm as well as cold weather. Let the deliciousness of maca and dark chocolate chunks combine to satisfy your food-lust.

You are free to use any seasonings that you like, but this is the most basic of all recipes that do not even require an ice-cream maker.

Please note that I have used a blender in this recipe. But if you have an ice-cream maker, you could use that to achieving a fluffy texture.

Serves: 4 people

Ingredients

  • Half a banana
  • Just a pinch of sea salt
  • A cup of cashews (raw)
  • 2 tablespoons of maca powder
  • A cup of water
  • Maple syrup (1/4th of a cup)
  • One-third of a cup dark chocolate
  • A teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions

  • Use a high-speed blender to blend all ingredients; just skip the dark chocolate for this step
  • Make sure that the mixture is completely smooth and close to being ‘creamy.’
  • Take a large bowl and transfer the mixture from blender
  • Now freeze it for about 30 minutes or so
  • Take the bowl out of the refrigerator and now mix chocolate chunks
  • Put it back into the refrigerator for a couple of hours until the mixture is thoroughly frozen
  • Before serving, defrost for roughly five minutes

 


CASHEW MACA-MACA BUTTER

If you like making your own nut butter to spread on toasts and various other snacks, you would love making this one as well! It is very simple to make and is quite nutritious to boost your energy for a couple of hours.

When the creamy texture and an array of health benefits possessed by cashews and maca combine, this nut butter becomes irresistible!

Ingredients

  • A cup of cashews (raw)
  • Hemp (seeds, ½ cup)
  • Macadamia nuts (just a cup of it)
  • Half to one tablespoon of maca powder

Directions

  • Take a high-speed blender and toss in hemp seeds, cashews, and macadamia nuts
  • Blend the seeds and nuts until a creamy mixture is formed
  • You can use a few drops of water to get the creamy mixture. Please note that you might have to scrape the sides once or twice
  • Toss in maca powder and continue blending until it is completely mixed
  • Now your mixture should have become drier and thicker
  • You could leave it out for a couple of minutes if you want the butter to be creamier
  • Take an air-tight and dry container to store the mixture
  • Refrigeration is not required

The Enzyme Pie

This is a very delicious and nutritious recipe. Whether you want to eat it for lunch or even breakfast to get energy for the day ahead, it will serve the purpose. Moreover, it does not require a lot of ingredients. All you need is a couple of fresh ingredients mentioned below together with a refrigerator and a food processor.

If you haven’t tried a raw food before, here is your bet!

Serves: 6-8 persons

Ingredients

(For crust)

  • A teaspoon of agave nectar (you can choose any other sweetener)
  • A teaspoon of Maca powder
  • Pecan nut (about 2 cups)
  • Figs (dry, normal to medium size, a cup)
  • Himalayan salt (about 2 medium pinches)

(For mango filling)

  • Cashews (1 cup)
  • Mangoes (2, ripe)
  • A pinch of Himalayan salt

(Zest – an organic lime)

  • Kiwis (for decoration, 5-7)
  • Coconut oil (2 to 4 teaspoons)

Directions

(For crust)

  • For about 15 minutes, soak the dry figs
  • At the same time, grind pecans and make flour
  • Leave the flour in a bowl
  • Process the figs into a thick paste
  • Toss in the flour
  • Add the remaining ingredients while mixing
  • Place the dough on a spring pan
  • Use your hands to press it and form a crust; you can even the surface with a spoon
  • Refrigerate

(Mango filling)

  • Use a coffee grinder to process cashews into flour
  • Toss in the mango, salt, and line
  • Pour some coconut oil
  • Make it smooth
  • Now pour it over the crust you made previously; refrigerate
  • Make kiwi balls

 


RAW MACA TRUFFLES

It is a delicacy that can be prepared within 20 minutes and could be stored in a refrigerator for a couple of weeks. Apart from being delicious, maca provides a great deal of energy and helps your body to handle stress.

Therefore, making it a perfect snack in the working hours or after a hectic day! There is a reason it is also called a power snack!

Ingredients

  • Half a cup raw maca powder
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • A vanilla dash
  • A teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Sea salt (just a pinch; or to taste)
  • A tablespoon of coconut oil
  • A cup of nut butter
  • About half a tablespoon of raw honey
  • Carob powder (half a cup)

Directions

  • Use a food processor to prepare nut butter
  • Toss in vanilla and honey
  • If you have ready-made nut butter, just skip the first step
  • Mix the dry ingredients, separately
  • Now prepare a mixture of all ingredients before processing everything together
  • You may sprinkle further ingredients for seasoning or for enhancing the taste
  • Pour in some water; as required
  • Make some balls out of the mixture
  • Dust them in carob powder
  • Refrigerate for at least an hour or so
